This month’s edition discusses the various antitrust and merger control decisions from the months of December 2021-January 2022. At the enforcement front, the CCI directed investigations into alleged abuse of dominance by Google and Apple. The CCI recently also cleared several combinations, including the acquisition of mutual fund business of Indiabulls by Nextbillion and a few acquisitions by the HDFC Group in the insurance space, amongst others.
